What a great celebration of Tony’s birthday a week ago Friday!
And, the Campolo Scholarship Fund goal for this event was met and exceeded. Thank you for your generous gifts. Your generosity makes it possible to support students like Campolo Scholar Alum (’19) Michelle Galdames-Henry, whom I recently met for lunch.
Michelle was in the inaugural cohort of the Campolo Scholars program. She majored in Youth Ministry and met her husband Jon Galdames-Henry, also a Campolo Scholar alum, while they were students at Eastern University.
Michelle now serves as Minister for Children and Youth at Christ Church Christiana Hundred in Wilmington, DE
As we met, Michelle shared about her experience in ministry, the importance of mentoring, and her vision for developing a high school internship at Christ Church. We also discussed her desire to give back and support the Campolo Scholars as a monthly donor, mentor, and by offering a youth ministry internship for a Campolo Scholar.
After lunch, Michelle and I visited with Tony. The three of us had a great conversation about the challenges and opportunities of reaching youth today.
It is encouraging and exciting to see God working through Campolo Scholar alums like Michelle, who are having a direct impact on young people and their entire church communities.
Thank you for your partnership in this vital work – and for celebrating Tony’s birthday together (here is a link to the Birthday Bash)!
