We have exciting news to share! Campolo Scholars Abi Fell-Dewalt and Jabre Harris have received prestigious scholarships.
These generous awards, in addition to the Campolo Scholarship, not only help meet our students’ financial needs, but serve as affirmations of these Campolo Scholars’ callings. They encourage them to remain confident in God’s love and provision — that God will make a way for God’s people, through God’s people (the Church), which is precisely what Tony Campolo and the Campolo Center seek to bear witness to.
Abi Fell-Dewalt, 2020 Eastern graduate and new Palmer Seminarian, was one of two recipients to be awarded with the Daniel E. Weiss Scholarship.
Rev. Lauren Lisa Ng, Director of Leadership Empowerment | Lead Strategist, American Baptist Home Mission Society (ABHMS) said:
“I congratulate you again on being named one of two recipients of the 2021 Daniel E. Weiss Scholarship. We were so impressed by your warm presence, evident love for Jesus Christ, and enthusiasm around applying your gifts to the call God has clearly placed upon your life.”
Jabre Harris ’22 has been selected as a 2021 recipient of the Dana Kull Memorial Scholarship from the Ocean City Tabernacle.
Jabre was selected among applicants from across the country that are “students at the undergraduate, graduate, or seminary level pursuing education leading to vocations of Christian service and are actively involved in Christian leadership and service.”
Upon learning of this award, Jabre declared: “Hallelujah, thank You Jesus! I give God all the honor, praise, and glory. He’s about to do something new and it’s going to be bigger.”
Campolo Center Scholars like Abi and Jabre are already making a difference in the Church and society, and we are so proud of their ongoing growth, hearts for the gospel and justice, and desire to pour back into the rising cohorts of Campolo Scholars.
We aspire to ultimately provide full scholarships to all of the scholars, but until we reach that capacity, we are diligently helping the Campolo Scholars identify and apply for supplemental aid. This is core to Tony’s vision – that students who are called and committed to ministry would be able to graduate with little or no debt and devote themselves to answering God’s call on their lives.
Your donation to the Campolo Scholarship Fund will provide more scholarships to promising, gifted, and committed students like Abi and Jabre. Thank you for being a part of this good work.
