Last week, we shared with you about Tony’s new pastoral position serving in South Philadelphia. Once a vibrant church, the congregation has dwindled down to a handful of lovely people who have been wondering if their church has a future.
The reality is that the issues facing that congregation are a reflection of those facing the American church at large. Your church might not look like this, but other churches around you do. And when churches are not healthy, the communities in which they are situated will not be served.
This is precisely why the Campolo Center for Ministry is so critical.
The church must invest in its future, by investing in the education and training of its future leaders, pastors, missionaries, and youth workers. We long to see students inspired by Tony and Eastern… promoting the whole Gospel, Jesus and Justice, theory and praxis, theology and lifestyle. Under Tony’s direction, our Campolo Scholars are studying and serving in a community committed to the integration of faith, reason, justice, and the spiritual formation of the next generation of thoughtful Christian leaders.
Tony has worked tirelessly in ministry for over five decades. And you too can make a difference!
Let’s make his birthday extra special. Will you join Tony and the Campolo Center for Ministry in helping to recruit and train the next generation of church leaders?
Your gift today will directly provide Campolo Scholarships.
With scholars just back in session, the month of February is a great time to give. And, due to a $42,000 matching grant, your gift will be doubled! #84for84!
We are already halfway to a goal of $84,000 – Praise the Lord!
For all these years, Tony has set before us a powerful example. And now, as he preaches from the pulpit, on Sunday mornings, he continues to send the message: “I care about the church. I will serve her.”
With gratitude and hope,
Robert Gauthier
