We are delighted to welcome Rev. Jane Filkin to the Campolo Center Ministry team!
Jane’s passion to celebrate, encourage, and develop the God-given gifts and influence of others is already blessing our Scholars as she focuses on leadership development and spiritual formation. She served for 16 years as the Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Community at a large evangelical university church in Colorado.
Jane is a nurturing and relational leader. She is also a certified life coach, partnering with people who are facing life transitions and asking essential life questions.
Jane studied Sociology and Education at the University of California, Berkeley. She holds a Master of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary as well as a Certificate in Resilient Leadership from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology and an Advanced Certificate in Life Coaching from the American Association of Christian Counselors.
“My two decades in vocational ministry have taught me about the immeasurable love of God and the grace of living in the presence of the Holy Spirit, our deep need for both, and the joyful privilege of joining with others in Jesus’ redemptive purposes in the world.”
– Rev. Jane Filkin
Jane and her husband Scott met as University Ministry Interns in California (where they first encountered Tony), married in 2000, and have three great kids (ages 15, 13, and 11). Scott serves as the Director of Social Equity and Community at the University of Pennsylvania. As a family, they love to be active outside, create elaborate birthday cakes, play with their puppy, and try new things.
Along with leadership development and spiritual formation for the Campolo Scholars, Jane will be the main point of contact between the Campolo Center and churches in our area. She will meet with pastors, invite them to be part of our weekly Campolo Scholar meetings, and will encourage them to build mentoring relationships with the Scholars. Jane will provide leadership in the coordination of our Speaker Series and the ongoing spiritual formation of our students – and much more!
Please join me in welcoming Jane to Eastern University and to the Campolo Center for Ministry team!
